Tarragona

Located on the Mediterranean, in the heart of the Costa Daurada, Tarragona is Catalonia’s southernmost capital city, less than 100 kilometers away from Barcelona. It has a population over one hundred and thirty thousand inhabitants, and the native tongue is Catalan. Its privileged location affords it a temperate and mild climate year-round (25ºC degrees in summer, 12ºC degrees in winter).

From 27 to 25 BC, Tarragona was home to Emperor Augustus, and the city has inherited much from its past. Its monuments, location and climate make Tarragona an exceptional destination, one where visitors can do a lot of activities that can also be combined with the city’s varied shopping and culinary offering. Its streets are, in fact, a huge open-air museum.
