Abstract Submission and Guidelines

General Guidelines

All participants are invited to register to the web site in order to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentations. Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed for their acceptance by the Organising/Scientific Committee. In case of non-acceptance of an oral communication due to limited slots available, presenters will be invited to present their research as a poster.

Please, note that your registration is required to access abstract submission, but payment is not mandatory at this stage. Accepted summaries will however only be published in the book of abstracts of the symposium, after full payment of the registration fee.

Every registration allows to submit a maximum of 2 abstracts.

Abstracts should be submitted electronically following the steps below:

-       After receiving the registration email*, login to your private area and click on the button “Send communications” to upload your abstract

-       Please wait for message delivery receipt

*If you do not receive the confirmation message within a few minutes of signing up, please check your Spam folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there instead of your inbox.


Important Dates

The deadline for abstracts' submission is (extended until) March 22nd, 2019 - 8 pm CET. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.

Presenting authors of abstracts must be registered participants at Baekeland2019. Registration must be received no later than May 31th, 2019 (early registration deadline) to ensure that your abstract is included in the conference program and scheduled for presentation.

Authors will be notified by e-mail no later than April 15th, 2019 whether their abstract has been accepted or rejected, and, in case of acceptance about the form of presentation (oral or poster).

Final abstracts will appear in the electronic abstract book.

Guidelines for presenters

Each presentation will last for 20 minutes (15 minutes for the presentation + 5 minutes for a questions and answers session). All speakers will be provided with a video projector and a laptop for their Power Point presentation.

Poster size is A0 (nominally 90 cm wide and 120 cm high), in portrait format (no landscape) and it should include a photo of the presenting author in one of the top corners. A poster number will be assigned to each abstract and will be announced to the presenting author.

Poster presenters are responsible for setting up and removing the posters.

 

Awards

MDPI PRIZE TO THE BEST POSTER OF THE CONFERENCE 

 

Requirements: having presented a poster at the conference Baekeland 2019.

Jury: The Organizing Committee, with the collaboration of the Scientific Committee, will select the best poster, according to the interest and originality of the work, the scientific quality and communicative clarity, as well as the creativity and attractiveness of the poster.

Prize:

First prize: 300 €

Second prize: 200 €

Third prize: 100 €

 

The prizes will be anounced during the gala dinner at “Casa Miret” palace.

This prize is called by Fundació URV, co-organizer of the conference. The amount of the prizes is included in the cost budget of the conference, managed by Fundació URV. The prize is subject to the tax retention according to the spanish tax regulation.
