Spanish summer school 2017

Excursions

Our Spanish Summer School includes three excursions totally related with the projects of the Spanish language course. After working inside the classroom, it is time to enjoy and get to know impressive locations.

Saturday 15th of July: The other Barcelona

Saturday 22nd of July: Art outside the museums

Friday 28th of July: Food awareness: agriculture, gastronomy and nature

PROJECT I: “The other Barcelona”

In this excursion we will travel to the famous city of Barcelona but we will stay away from the overcrowded tourist places to get to know the other side of the city.

Beyond Sagrada Familia or the Ramblas, we will visit charming places forgotten by the tourist agencies but that are definitely a must to get to know the real city.

PROJECT II “Art outside the museums”

The second excursion will take us to the county of Terra Alta, to know the art in the rural environment. We will visit the village of Horta de Sant Joan, where the young painter Pablo Ruiz Picasso found his source of inspiration during his stays at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th.

We will also visit the Art Nouveau wine cellar of Pinell de Brai, an architecture treasure from the beginning of the 20th century. The students will be able to see the wine making process in an unrivalled scenario with a very interesting artistic history to tell.

PROJECT III “Food awareness: agriculture, gastronomy and nature”

The third week outing will take us to know the nature of Tarragona in the incredible landscape of the Natural Park “Delta de l’Ebre”.

Through a trip to the delta of the Ebro river (one of the most important in Spain), which is devoted to rice cultivation, the students will have a broader vision on how the gastronomic culture and the agriculture and aquiculture of a place are related to each other.
